Contest: Win 1 Month of Netflix from Triple M Designz

Let’s see if you’re paying attention. We recently published a post about the San Diego Asian Film Festival. In this short blog post we mentioned our two favorite genres, but didn’t indicate which favorite belongs to whom.

Question: Which genre mentioned is a favorite to Canhdy and which is a favorite to Panthong.

  • You’ll have to refer back to the original post to find out what two genres were mentioned.
  • Your answer must be a comment posted on this blog only (not FB, or Twitter).
  • 50/50 chance you’ll get it right.

Be first to answer correctly and get a month subscription of Netflix on us. You’ll simply need to supply us with your email to claim your prize! Good Luck!

We’re listening! Give us your feedback

In today’s competitive world there are so many ways to get our name out there and earn new business. With all these different ways to market, sometimes we lose sight of what’s important to us, our existing clients. We want you to come back again and again and again. Although getting new clients is a very crucial part of our growth, it is similarly crucial for us to keep, you. Like any relationship you have to continue to give to receive. And, like any relationship, this courtship is not over, we have to earn your loyalty and win you over every time. Otherwise, you can easily go to “the other guy”. We can’t have that now, can we?

So tell us. We want your feedback.

  • What are we doing that’s working?
  • Is there anything we can improve upon?
  • Is there something that we should be doing that we’re currently not?

You do not need to be an existing client to give feedback. Any feedback is welcome.

Nana’s Heavenly Hot Dogs

The West’s Greatest Full Service Hot Dog Catering Cart

Nana’s Heavenly Dogs started out as one full service hot dog cart back in 2010. Since their humble beginnings they have grown to 3 full service hot dog carts, catering both San Diego and Phoenix. They plan on expanding later this year (2012), presenting Nana’s Full Service Gourmet Hot Dog Truck and will soon be visiting your favorite spots all around San Diego County. By 2013 Phoenix will also have a gourmet truck going.

Here’s what you can expect from your experience with Nana’s.They don’t cut corners when it comes to their product. They use only the best products, including Kosher All Beef Hebrew National Dogs. At many of their regular venues customers are known by name. When it comes to private events they really aim to please. If there is a theme, they try to match it. That means if your event is a “Disney Cars Theme”” they come prepared with matching decor, down to the snow cones cups. They really mean it when they say “Full Service” because their staff members clean up after your guests and ensures they’ve enjoyed their meal. They also offer seconds and are glad to bring it to them. This allows you to enjoy your party.

Other hot dog carts are asking what’s their secret. Hot Dog Carts come and go, and for most owners it’s a hobby, for Nana’s Heavenly Dogs, it’s a passion. They maintain a 5 star rating on YELP (many reviews are filtered, due to first time YELPERS) and are currently the top rated food truck in San Diego on  and their truck isn’t even completed yet.

Trying out Google AdWords and Facebook Ads

“You gotta spend money to make money” they say. So why not spend FREE money. We recently received credits toward Google AdWords and Facebook Ads. Why not use it, right? The cynic in me says this is how they reel you in by giving you free stuff but I’ll have to admit… free works. With marketing and advertising you’re pretty much rolling the dice. It’s all trial and error and you hope you’re spending your hard earned dollars wisely. That’s what we’re doing. We haven’t been using Google AdWords long enough to see how successful it will be for us, but Facebook Ads is working so far. We’ll give it another week or so, see how it pans out.

What’s your experience with Google AdWords and Facebook Ads? Is it worth the money to spend on AdWords and does “Likes” on Facebook really get you anything? What has worked for your business? Leave a comment an tell us your thoughts.

Featured Business of the Week, Heirloom Kayak

Each week we will feature a new business on our blog to promote and assist in expanding their reach. It is our pleasure to present this company to our friends and followers. Be sure to check out what they’re all about. Maybe their products and services are just what you were looking for. Please share with your friends this week’s featured business…

Handcrafted wooden kayaks, canoes and paddle boards

Heirloom Kayak is located in Northern Idaho and is owned by friends of ours. They handcraft custom kayaks, canoes and paddle boards from hardwood! Using the term “handcrafted” seems like an understatement. The term “custom” just doesn’t describe it enough. Seems redundant, but I have no other way to describe them. Heirloom also brings “custom” to a whole new level. Your input is welcome in helping design your watercraft. The glassed finish not only makes them beautiful pieces of artwork but also makes them as durable as their fiberglass counterparts. You haven’t paddled ’till you’ve tried an Heirloom! Whether you admire art, woodworking, wooden boats or water sports, a unique craft like these is a must-have. See for yourself at

Music for My Ears, Young Gee

Almost one year ago we filmed Young Gee’s music video “Girl this is your song”. This video received over 29,000 views on youtube and is continuing to grow. You can add to this number by viewing too, check it out. Although this was not the only video we worked on for Young Gee it was by far one of our favorites to shoot.. and we worked on a lot.

“Young Gee has got to be my favorite right now”, says FreeMind of Black Light Ink Studios. When asked to embellish, FreeMind further explains, “Young Gee’s sound is pretty unique because he has the ability to adjust and blend in different sounds.” He has a big role in helping put San Diego on map and is personally expanding to other cities. His reach goes all the way to the East Coast. We’re happy to have been a part of it all.

The Break, Talk Show is Back for Season 3

Are you ready for another Break? Well, Lady X and her team didn’t waste any time before starting again. The Break, Talk Show is back for Season 3, Wednesday August 22, 2012. The show is filmed on location at Jolt’n Joe’s in the downtown San Diego Gaslamp Quarter. The Break is a talk show that provides a platform for San Diego artists (not limited to music) to showcase their work and reach out to their fans. To add to that, the show also features a local business interview, in which Melissa Myers, visits these entrepreneurs at their locations, giving viewers a little insight at what they do and offer San Diego. Earl’s Corner with Earl Wilson is a part of the show that is ever evolving. We’ll never know what Earl will do, it could be a serious interview, rants about the Illuminati or just talks about his obsession with shoes. Nonetheless, always fun to watch. At the end of last season, The Break introduced a new cast member, Wendy Wang aka “Dubs”. She joined Earl to interview a dance crew on the season finale, but in this season will be providing viewers with upcoming events and recommendations on how to spend time in San Diego.

Season 3 premiers Wednesday August 22, 2012 featuring spoken words lyricist Tonya Danee and Ceroromo Bragg and business Hansen’s Surf Shop. Watch this episode on
